More About the Artist
Welcome to my art page! I’ve loved art since I was a child—always opting for arts and crafts, writing, and other creative outlets over sports. My early passion for creativity led me to earn a degree in writing, which then shaped my career in technical writing, editing and project management. After the birth of my first child, I decided to step away from my career to focus on my growing family. With three kids under the age of five and a traveling husband, life was busy. But even amidst the chaos, I kept my creative spark alive, channeling it into my family and through volunteering, collecting art and curating a bold, eclectic style in my home.
When my children got older, I returned to work part-time in a role I lovingly called my “jobette.” Over a decade later, my “jobette” evolved into a career as a marketing manager, where I express my creativity in writing, editing, and event planning.
In 2020, when the world hit pause, I found myself feeling stuck and anxious. So, I turned to one of the things that had always brought me joy—creating with my hands and heart. I started experimenting with inks, watercolors, gouache, oils, acrylics, collage, pastels…you name it. Mostly self-taught, I’ve found my greatest joy in the process of play and experimentation. I love how color, movement, and layers come together, even when a piece looks simple, it’s often pretty complex underneath.
In the art world, I tend to think it’s important to have a recognizable style, but I’m not sure that’s in the cards for me. I prefer to play, experiment, and embrace the organic unpredictability of it all. You never really know what you’re going to get, and that’s part of the fun. I paint for myself, and if my work resonates with you too, that makes me incredibly happy.
I live in Charlotte with my husband. We have three adult children, who graciously let us be a part of their lives. I’m passionate about rescue pups—my two dogs are both rescues and its not uncommon to find a foster pup in the mix.
I love music and live shows, tea and champagne, oysters on the half shell, my wonderful, colorful friends, and ever since mine have flown the nest, my little backyard birds.
Thank you so very much for visiting my page.
